Day to Day Activities

• Carrying out the mould making process to create a working mould from which hollow pottery and flatware pieces can be cast.
• A model of a desired piece is created in plastic clay and scaled up to 12% larger than the target size to allow for any shrinkage of clay during firing.
• Complete a blocking process, which means creating the first original mould which is then replicated for production volume. This is a key part of the process and requires extra care to ensure a high standard result.
• A replica can then be made from the original in a process called “casing”, they can be made of plaster or silicone rubber.
• Creating the required number of working moulds from the case as needed for the item run
• Consistently carry out Quality Control checks on the items you are working on to ensure a high standard of production is maintained.

Shifts and pay

• Days: Monday to Thursday 05.30 - 14.00 Friday 05.30 - 10.15
• Payrate: Days £12.31 up to £15.64 Dependant on experience
• Perm placement day 1
