Job Description
MIG Welder – Full time/Permanent
Working in an engineering environment site – you will possess the following essential skills
- Reliable/Punctual
- Attention to detail
- Self-Motivated and able to work unsupervised (once trained)
- Happy with standing and working in the Same Spot
- Health and safety conscious
Day to Day Activities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, and specifications
- Measure, cut, and shape metal pieces using power tools and hand tools
- Weld and fabricate metal components using various welding techniques, including MIG welding
- Perform quality checks to ensure that finished products meet specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow any tasks assigned to you by management
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Fabricator/Welder or similar role
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including MIG welding
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components
- TIG / Stick welding is also advantageous to have (can also attract higher pay rates too)
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately
Shifts and Pay Rate
- Days 0800-1600
- £14.55 - £16.00 per hour dependant on experience (overtime also paid at premium rates)
- Temporary to permanent position – 12-week probationary period.
