Job Description

MIG Welder – Full time/Permanent

Working in an engineering environment site – you will possess the following essential skills

• Reliable/Punctual
• Attention to detail
• Self-Motivated and able to work unsupervised (once trained)
• Happy with standing and working in the Same Spot
• Health and safety conscious

Day to Day Activities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, and specifications
• Measure, cut, and shape metal pieces using power tools and hand tools
• Weld and fabricate metal components using various welding techniques, including MIG welding
• Perform quality checks to ensure that finished products meet specifications
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow any tasks assigned to you by management
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Fabricator/Welder or similar role
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including MIG welding
• Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components
• TIG / Stick welding is also advantageous to have (can also attract higher pay rates too)
• Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately

Shifts and Pay Rate

• Days 0800-1600
• £14.55 - £16.00 per hour dependant on experience (overtime also paid at premium rates)
• Temporary to permanent position – 12-week probationary period.
