Job Summary:

As a Director of Production you are responsible for overseeing the future growth of production, setting the strategy for expanding our production capabilities, introducing new product ranges, and refining our processes as we grow. You set the production budget and oversee production operations. You develop the production team, shape roles, nurture skills and improve structures over the long-term, co-creating a collaborative environment where everyone can contribute. Alongside your co-directors, you will align production with the wider goals as we work to become the most innovative tile manufacturer in the country.

Production:

  • Includes all Production Manager responsibilities
  • 0versee the introduction of material research into production to ensure that material innovations are translated into scalable production systems
  • Set and oversee the production budget, providing cost analysis and financial reporting
  • Develop the long-term strategy for expanding production capabilities
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support long-term growth, team development and production innovation
  • Collaborate with co-directors to align production strategy with wider organisational goals
  • Champion sustainable manufacturing initiatives across production systems

People:

  • Build and maintain external partnerships, and represent the company at industry events.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture across the production team and wider workshop.
  • Shape the future vision of the workshop alongside co-directors.
  • Plan for future team growth ensuring that the workshop has the skills and capacity to reach its long-term goals.
  • Co-create and implement training and growth plans to support team development.
  • Set team objectives, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback to ensure high standards and growth.

Skills Needed:

  • Includes all of the core skills listed above
  • Experience overseeing budgets and financial planning
  • Experience in designing and implementing long-term production systems
  • Experience managing growth, scaling operations or launching new product lines
  • Experience translating material research and design innovations into scalable production systems
  • Experience aligning production strategy with wider organisational goals or design-led initiatives
  • Experience championing sustainable manufacturing to inspire teams to embed sustainable practices in a production environment.
