Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in operating various saws and machinery used in the manufacturing process. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The Saw Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that materials are cut accurately and efficiently to meet production demands.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Beamsaws, bandsaws and other cutting equipment such as dual mitre saws and CNC machines to produce high-quality materials according to specifications.
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the workspace.
  • Use basic maths skills to measure and calculate dimensions for cutting materials accurately.
  • Must be able to read from drawings for measurements
  • Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in operating beamsaws.
  • Experience in materials handling, including the safe lifting and movement of heavy items.
  • Proficient in tooling practices, including the use of hand tools for assembly tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Basic maths skills for precise measurements and calculations related to cutting processes.

Hours of work

  • Monday to Friday = 08:00am -16:30pm
  • Working hours = 40 hours. - Overtime available.(standard rate whilst on agency but paid at a premium rate when permanent).
  • 1 x 30 minute breaks unpaid
  • Temporary to permanent - duration 12 weeks

If successful you will be employed under a temp to perm contract. You will serve a 12 week probation whilst employed by Blink Recruitment. During this probation you will be monitored on timekeeping and attendance along with work ethic and ability to work well as part of a team.

Once you have successfully completed the 12 weeks you will be transferred over a as a permanent employee. If you wish to be considered for this role:

Once we have verified your registration you will then be contacted to discuss next steps. Blink Recruitment operate a full in house PAYE payroll. We do not use the services of Umbrella payroll schemes. All workers accrue holiday pay per hour worked. Paid Weekly with a week in arrears.
